Confirmation at Zion is part of our comprehensive education ministry entitled GIFT: Growing In Faith Together. Read more about it by clicking on this link.
As part of GIFT, 6th-8th grade students are invited to learn in a classroom setting on Sunday mornings from 9:20-10:15 a.m. and in a small group setting on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday morning curriculum covers Old Testament, New Testament, and Luther’s Small Catechism. Wednesday evenings focus on how to live out our faith in our daily lives.
We are excited about the learning that takes place through our confirmation ministry, but we are even more excited by the relationships that are formed between students and the caring adult members of Zion who serve as teachers, guides, GIFT angels (anonymous adults who pray for our students and remember them on birthdays, baptismal anniversaries, and other special occasions), field trip hosts, etc. Faith is caught more than taught. At Zion, we strive to create an environment where that catching of the faith can take place.
