Zion supports families: of all shapes and sizes

Opportunities for Service

Opportunities for service abound…within the church walls and beyond! No matter the gift you’ve been given by God, it can be put to use at Zion. We are always looking for volunteers to make possible the many ministries that happen here. Here are just a few of the ways you might serve:

Provide worship leadership. We need lots of people to make our worship services work—greeters, ushers, acolytes, musicians, assisting ministers, lectors, altar guild members. If you enjoy helping with worship, we can use you!

Serve on a committee. No matter what your particular area of interest, we have a committee that could use your input. Some of our committees include worship, stewardship, education, evangelism, property, and youth and family. Be a part of discerning God’s dream for this place by serving on a committee!

Join our Do-Day Ladies. These ladies gather faithfully on Monday mornings to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. The work they do is truly needed and appreciated. No skills or experience necessary, just a desire to make a difference in the world!

Spend the day at Zion on a GIFT (Growing In Faith Together) Sunday. One Sunday a month, the entire Zion family is invited to stay after the 10:30 am worship service for a potluck meal and then a service project. This gives folks of all ages the opportunity to be of service together. Past projects have included making care packages for the North Fayette School District administrators, faculty, and staff; cleaning the stretch of highway that Zion adopted through the Adopt-a-Highway program; and assembling Thanksgiving meal boxes in order to provide holiday meals for those with limited resources in our community. We are always looking for ways to reach out into the greater community and be of service. Join us!

These are just some of the ways that you can be of service at Zion. We also encourage and support efforts to be of service beyond the church walls. There are so many ways to serve. Here are just a few:
