We Grow in Faith

 COMPASS

Compass is a faith exploration using a rotational model which starts with a single Bible story. Each child will explore this Bible story in a variety of ways to help nurture the true importance of these stories as they apply to their lives today. We'll use science, drama, singing, cooking, games and technology to discover God and His mighty love for all of us. Students in preschool through 8th grade are divided in groups meeting on Wednesday nights from 6 to 7 p.m.   A light meal is served from 5:30 to 6:00 for students, parents and community members at a suggested $3.00 donation per person. There is also opportunity for members of all ages to volunteer to be a part of the fun and learning. We would love to have your help!

Confirmation Experience

Confirmation classes for 6, 7 and 8th grade students are held on Wednesdays during Compass and monthly after Sunday worship.  Students gather on Wednesdays for a planned event--mystery night, movie night, game night or Grandparents night.  Sunday meetings are once a month right after worship from October to March. Parents, students and congregation members are invited to learn during this time.

High School

Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Our high school kids traveled to Houston for the 2018 Gathering. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives.  Zion's youth hold several fundraisers throughout the year to help fund these triennial trips.
